Background information
This project aims to clarify the profiles of five travel destinations in Northern Central Finland and to build them a new framework for cooperation and co-marketing. The primary aim of this new operating model is to enable investors, travel operators and construction companies to participate in developing these destinations at a smaller risk than in a single destination.
The project also aims to promote new solutions in the use of wood in construction, taking into account the aspects of low-carbon building, circular economy, and energy efficiency. In the long term the project aspires to increase travel and leisure habitation in the area, and thus increase the area’s vitality.
The project runs from 1st February 2021 to 30th June 2022. The project is administered by Kehittämisyhtiö Witas Oy and funded by the Regional Council of Central Finland.
